Editorial Process

Let’s talk about our responsibility, our writing process, and our commitment to all readers.

We care about you and the people around you, so we wouldn’t want to see you being hurt in any way possible. It is our utmost responsibility to ensure the curated content found on this website is trustworthy enough to ensure you are not making a bad decision consulting it. We just want to let you understand your body better.

And we wouldn’t want you googling at 3 in the morning while being in panic mode just because you read something on our site. We would never want that in any way possible. Your safety is our priority.

Our Voice

Our writers (many of whom have the related credentials to work on psychology and mental health-related content) ensure that they have command over the subject matter and it is medically reviewed by the virtue of diligent references of the medical studies that they look for knowledge in. Every word in our blog is carefully curated, keeping in mind the medical facts and backing of the studies of the domain we look at. Additionally, it is also medically reviewed in the sense they are looked at by industry leaders in the medical and mental health domain, who also happen to be the team behind Inland Empire Behavioral Group that we are representing on Google.

The Commitment We Make to Our Readers

We religiously feel that healthcare communication should do no harm. We recognize that words influence how you experience healthcare, and the actions you take. Language can also motivate or stigmatize already marginalized groups. And we don’t make assumptions about people.

That’s why we use person-centered, empathetic language. It is not in our jurisdiction to judge you. We never refer to you as your health condition. Nor your disability. Nor your gender or race. Usually, we just use person-first language in reference to you. This way we try our best to honor what our readers want. Yet, since we can’t personally ask you about your preference, we kindly ask you to read our content assuming that it was written with positive intentions.

We also recognize that language is constantly evolving. So, our work in this space will never be finished. Our editorial policies are updated annually, so everything is double-checked and reviewed to keep us up-to-date with the changes in the domain.

Contact Us

You’ll find that all our articles have specific dates, which is when they were published. That’s because while much of healthcare doesn’t change but sometimes when things do in the domain they do so in a big way. We’re always reviewing our content to make sure it’s the most recent and accurate information possibly available. Think you’ve found an error? (Yes we are indeed humans!)
